Kiera and Harry Potter Broom

One of the funniest things we have seen is when Kiera was around 4 or 5 years old and was obsessed with everything Harry Potter (knowing Kiera, she probably still is)

On a visit to our house, we told Kiera that we had a magic broom that she could fly, just like Harry Potters broom! Unable to contain her excitement she asked us if she could try it out and fly around the garden.

We duly brought out a wooden-handled garden broom, no frills or whistles, just a standard broom. Whilst looking bemused she wanted to know more and asked how do I make it fly?

Just sit on the broom like you would on a hobbyhorse and run around the garden saying some magic words and the broom will fly, we advised!

Bless her, she so much wanted to fly like Harry Potter, that she ran around the garden perched on the broom using all the magic words that she could think of, with a few other silly phrases that we gave her to try.

After countless rounds of the lawn, she finally gave up and marched across to us, exclaiming “Studid Broom, it won’t fly” and she threw the broom across the garden in disgust!
