Carla & Mike’s Engagement?

I was explaining to Coben aged 7 that I was going to have my mum’s engagement ring repaired and have 2 sapphire stones set in to replace the missing diamonds in the ring. I further explained that this was because mum and I have the same birthstone “sapphire”.

Of course, this brought up other questions like “what is a birthstone?” and typical of a 7-year-old “what is my birthstone?” We took the usual route and Googled it and went through all family members and matched them to their respective birthstones and his lasting thought was that “my birthstone is the same as auntie Carla’s because our birthdays are only 3 days apart, a Turquoise.

When we went to visit Coben’s auntie Carla later in the day, the subject came up again as Coben had asked if I had an engagement ring. After Carla had shown him her birthstone ring that Mike had found in the park his conclusion was ” auntie Carla & Mike were now engaged”

Getting too complicated now. lol.
